Game Night (2018) | Rotten Tomatoes (1) J. R. Jones Chicago Reader The long joke of the narrative is adroitly handled, and for once the climax pays off in laughs. Mar 9, 2020 Full Review Game Night (2018) | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Richard Brody The New Yorker The movie is a hollow throwback to classic comedy, and it shines only by contrast with dull studio competition. Mar 5, 2018 Full Review Game Night (2018) | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard The spoofy action set-pieces are ho hum. What's special is the minutiae-based, casually political banter. Rated: 3/5 Mar 4, 2018 Full Review Game Night (2018) | Rotten Tomatoes (4) David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment Its great screenplay allows for a little more storyline and suspense then what we expect from most comedy films while Jason Bateman once again shows why he is the current king of comedy. Rated: 3/5 Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Game Night (2018) | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson Flush with snickering hilarity and scoring plenty of points for swerving surprises, Game Night is infectiously entertaining with any cheese it serves. Rated: 4/5 Oct 14, 2024 Full Review Game Night (2018) | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Tina Kakadelis Beyond the Cinerama Dome Harkening back to the mid-budget comedy movies that have sadly disappeared from the mainstream, Game Night is the sort of breezy movie that has great potential for universal appeal, if only people are able to find out about it. Audience Member Stupid movie. Stupid characters. I could forgive if it was only one or two but no. THEY ARE ALL STUPID. Plot is also stupid, plot twists as well. Do not recommend. Watched if because boyfriend wanted to, had terrible time. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Tristan C Cheap comedy - just about worth putting on to watch in the background but definitely nothing special. Turned it off after half an hour due to a cheesy, unoriginal script and a predictable storyline. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/18/24 Full Review Kevin P Very funny comedy with a solid cast of equally funny characters that felt more grounded and genuine than your average comedy’s leads. Was pleasantly surprised by the movie’s creative cinematography, ironically thriller-fitting soundtrack, and unexpected narrative structure. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/13/24 Full Review Griffith J About what’s expected but still enjoyable, if not predictable. The camerawork & miniature effects are way better than they need to be. Lots of jokes that miss but many that catch me off guard & land well. The supporting cast shines. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/17/24 Full Review Ed R Pretty hilarious concept to take a regular game night and turn it into a hilarious action mystery!
